Day 26 - Everything is OM

The following is an inside joke for all Kranti Yoga peeps.

Upendra: "Get into a comfortable position, comfortable to be for one hour.  Close your eyes.  Breathing your natural breathe.  Do not estrain.  Everything is OM, OM is everything.  If the bugs crawl, mosquito, ants touch, it tis OM, do not move.  Accept everyting as it tisis.  Visualize the rising sun in your every channes as color as possible as clear as possible.  Oberve the uncomfortness in your whole body - top to bottom, bottom to top.  You should not move any part of the body - accept everyting as it tsis.  Adopt a steady and comfortable pose.  Accept all the uncomfortness in your whole body, heatness, coldness, all the tots positive an negative.  With the closing eyes observe your breathe.  Feel the vibration in your every channels.  Double up the awareness in your whole body (insert body parts here).  Do not move your body.  Accept everyting as it tsis" . . . I just love Upendra and his Indian accent.  It makes me smile.

Maybe one day I will be able to get caught in the bliss so that I don't fall asleep in this meditative process - sleeping with awareness . . . or accept that the mosquitos or ants are OM and pretend they are not on my body biting.  Somehow I doubt it but he has a lot of bliss in his life to have that sweet little boy smile that will forever grace his soul which shines inside and out.  It's a pretty good thing to strive for . . . we all loved to adopt our little Upendraisms and we had a lot of fun with it with each other and with him.  I think we all will miss Upendra . . . maybe some of us will not miss pranyama or meditation session but there are many who will.  I'll just miss Upendra.

Everythig is OM is how we spent our last official class on Thursday evening.  It was a great way to wrap up our time with 'Pendy".

This morning was our final self-practice session.  My back was at it's brink and I tried to push through Surya Namaskaras in hopes that it would let go and I could complete my final self practice session with my yoga family but my back was having none of it.  So instead I did some restorative stretching combined with the Ashtanga postures I could do safely.  I practiced Ahimsa :)

Afterwards we had our final beach walk meditation with Upendra.  We sat in front of the ocean in a comfortable position and listened to the sound of the waves and the sound in between breaks of the waves.  It was pretty awesome.  The ocean commands such respect.  Then I went for a walk to the other beach for my meditative practice.  It was a lovely way to start the day.

One of our beach walk meditations where Upendra split us into groups with a mantra to chant the whole time

Went to Chaude with Bex and Line - they each bought a sari.  I decided not to because I would likely never wear it again except to the Fire Ceremony.

I did however try one on.

We had our closing Fire Ceremony which mirrored our Welcome Fire Ceremony.  Kranti shared a story with us about Buddha.  Upendra chanted some mantras, and since we were well versed in them this time we joined in as opposed to observing or attempting like our very first day.  Brooke, Cheska, Lindsay, Rose, Elaine, Nikki, Beatrix, and Line all wore the saris they bought and looked absolutely stunning. I wore a beautiful silk dress I bought my first week here.  We chanted and offered all the negative energy and then all the positive energy offering salt and rice to the fire.  And positive energy to each other and the universe and the people of India after that.  We passed Indian sweets around the circle . . . yum.  Kranti presented us with our wreath of Indian flowers and our official 200-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training yoga certificates.  It was a beautiful ceremony and so amazing that we shared it together.  It was an exciting day for all.
