Day 23 - May Divine Light Inspire Our Thoughts

"OM bhur bhuvah svah
tat savitur vareynam
bhargo devasya dhimahi
Dhiyo yo nah pracodayat" - Gayatri Mantra

Translation: "We meditate on the glory of sacred Light illuminating the three worlds.  May that divine light inspire our thoughts".

As we come into our last few days here at Kranti Yoga, completing our teacher training assessments, studying for our two days of exams and assessments, feeling tired and our bodies beat up may we all find some divinity and light in our thoughts, remembering where we are, why we're here, all the incredible things we've done, seen, learned, and wonderful friends made.  This is just the beginning of our journey as yoga teachers.  Soak it all in ... The 6 am 2-hour intensive Ashtanga class, the meditative practices we've learned and experienced with Upendra to create peace in our lives and spread it to others, the incredible knowledge we gained from Julia and all the amazing assistance from Ellie, Faye, Helen and Yoko, the amazing experience with Swami G and the Hare Krishna musicians, and the workshops we had with Kranti.  Best of all the knowledge and gifts we have received from each member of our yoga family ... We all came with vast differences and experience in our yoga practice and the encouragement and support we all gave to one another ... Initially a group of strangers just 3.5 weeks ago ... Is PRICELESS.   These little statements here just scratch the surface of what I feel in my heart.

A fabulous way to end the day was finding appreciation for tonight's unexpected rain/thunder storm by dancing on Satva stage with the rain pouring through the canopy creating a soaked, splashy venue for dance while Dan and Upendra and even Line played the drums and we sang the Gayatri Mantra.  This is a mantra that we all find ourselves singing allowed or humming every moment of the day.  This is a mantra that will forever be etched in my mind along with its beautiful meaning and especially the memories it carries.

Each one of us can think of one time someone we were with suddenly started humming or singing the Gayatri mantra and what remember what we were doing.

Immense gratitude, thoughts inspired by the light within each of us.

Namaste

J
