Day 18 - Swami G

"Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna
Krishna, Krishna
Hare, Hare

Hare Rama, Hare Rama
Rama, Rama
Hare, Hare"

My alarm went off at 5:30 a.m. as it does each morning but I did not hit snooze as each day before I've just laid for a moment longer and got up to get ready for class.  Today the story was more like waking again with a start, looking at the time and realizing I had five minutes to go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, get dressed and get to Moksha Shala.  I actually made it in time.  I thought it was another day of self practice but I was quite pleased to see that Julia was leading us through Primary Series . . . another opportunity to listen to her class delivery.

My entire spine this morning was completely locked from my cervical spine to my lower back.  I took every modification I could and avoided some postures - this is always so difficult for me to do, but I know I need it.

I did notice that Julia led us a little more slowly through Surya Namaskara A and B today which I was quite grateful for.

As per usual I felt so much better after I completed my practice.

A couple of the girls said they had some really awesome meditative moments in Pranayama Meditation this morning.  That is exciting.

I came back to my room after practice to see if there were any photos posted of the gala last night and there were . . . some wonderful photos.  I had no idea that my mom was going as well and when I saw the photo of my whole family all dressed up and looking beautiful without me there I had an intense moment of longing to jump through a vortex to be there.  It was a very difficult moment for me . . . like I somehow let Grey down in not being there.  But what I know is that this was an amazing experience in his life, that I will share with him physically when I come home - something so exciting that he can share with me.  And my experience here in India is something so exciting that I can share with him.  We have both been experiencing monumental, life changing moments, ones that we are so grateful to have the opportunity for, and for that I am so grateful.

After breakfast break we had a Bhagavad Gita teaching led by Swami G.  He had musicians with him as well - what an incredible GIFT of an experience.  It was such an informative, intriguing class.  I felt so grateful for Kranti Yoga to feel it was important to incorporate something so specifically tied to India . . . the fact that we are here in India for our training, and such an amazing cultural opportunity that I'm sure we will all remember forever.  Swami G started singing Hare Krishna and invited us all to get up and join him and dance.  We danced and sang for a really long time, and we all drenched in sweat when we were done.  We all had such an incredible time and was a unique and rare opportunity . . . and we shared it with our new yoga family.  Swami G brought a book with him called Journey to India . . . a book I've wanted to read for some time.  I look very forward to reading it on the plane on the way home.  He inscribed something very personal for each of us inside.  I will treasure this day.

What a grateful moment
Spent some well deserved relax time at the beach and swam in the ocean today, mixed with some study time and went for my usual walk on the beach to release my back and get my mind energized for class after breakfast.

It was Cheska's turn to lead our group tonight.  All I can say is she is an absolute natural.  She was so in the zone . . . very zen . . . very precise and the flow was incredible.  Her sequence was everything I love about yoga and her style of delivery was so personal to her . . . she really brought her personality into her class.  I was dripping sweat.  She burned incense, which I loved.  She was very confident.  Great job Cheska!  I can only hope that my class will go as well as I've seen with Elaine and Cheska thus far.

This is what Elaine had to say to her dear friend Cheska after she finished her class . . .

Went wo Palolem to study in the air con again with Bex.  We got a lot accomplished.

So grateful for another incredible day here at Kranti Yoga!

Namaste
